Appraisal Process

Steps of the Appraisal Process

1. Preliminary Evaluation & Quote

We begin with a complimentary inspection to determine the scope of the donation. Based on these findings, we provide:

  • Valuation Estimate: An anticipated range for the final appraisal.
  • All-Inclusive Fee: A transparent, flat-rate quote covering inspections, research, report generation, and tax form preparation.

2. Formal Appraisal Development

Once the asset transfer is complete to the donation center, our qualified appraisers reconcile the initial inspection findings with the recipient's final inventory. We produce a USPAP-compliant legal document, signed and supported by comprehensive market data, to serve as your official record of value.

3. IRS Compliance & Filing

Upon delivery of the report and receipt of payment, we manage the IRS Form 8283 process: we fill out and certify the IRS 8283 form which will accompany your tax return. This form is sent to the nonprofit recipient, who fills in their section, and then forwards it on to you.
